The JASI Swim Club, one of the top clubs in the country, welcomes enquiries from any person who wants to gain further enjoyment from the sport of swimming. Whether you are graduating from the learn to swim programmes, moving to Christchurch and looking for a swim club, or even coming out of "retirement", JASI is the place for you!
For those graduating from the Jellie Park Learn to Swim programme, you will be able to take the skills you have learnt through the Bronze, Silver, Gold levels and from the training squads, along with your racing skills learned at Splash Nights, into competitions at Club, Regional, National and (possibly - depending on how high you dream) International level.
JASI is now recognised as a team where swimmers go on to international level, competing around the world. In previous seasons JASI swimmers have been selected to compete for New Zealand Teams at the World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Junior Pan Pacific Championships, Youth Olympics, and various major international events in Australia.
As a member of the JASI Swim Team you will now get the opportunity to race at competitions throughout Canterbury and New Zealand. To race in these competitions you have to be an affiliated member of New Zealand Swimming, this is done by becoming a member of the JASI Swim Team.
Please note that a swimmer joining the club shall not be deemed to be a member of the Club until the prescribed Membership Application form and Swimming NZ Membership form has been completed and signed by the parent or legal guardian of the new swimmer and returned to the Registrar of the Club at P O Box 29-064, Fendalton, Christchurch 8540. To view a copy of the Club's Terms of Trade, click here. All new members to the club should read a copy of the Club Constitution.
Membership lasts 12 months from 1st April - 31st March. Swimmers in the development squads or registering for the 1st time pay $100.00 per annum - this fee rises as you progress up through the training squads. At competitions, JASI meets the costs of all relays and covers the entry fees at all the National Championships.
